Tücsök Folk Music Group
Tücsök Folk Music Group (in English Tücsök means Crickets) was founded in a small Nograd village Mihálygerge, in 1992. From the beginninf Dénes Hrúz is the artistic director of the group. During the the last 10 years they possessed an extensive repertoire and they perform the colourful folk music of the Carpatian-basin. The members of the group are proud of their Hungarian, Slovak and German nationailty. The Group is the regular band of the Laboda Children Folk Dance Group and the Ipoly Folk Dance Group. They have a plenty of performances in Hungary. They are awarded with „Golden Peacock” three times and the professional award of the National Competition of folk music groups organized by Hungarian Radio. Their recordings are ofren played by the Hungarian and Slovak radio and the Hungarian television.
Tücsök
Folk Music Group has appeared in many countries: Slovakia, Poland, Germany,
Latvia, Finland, Sweden, England, Italy, Greece, Cyprus and Czech
Republic. Financial and institutional
support is provided by Attila József Community centre in Mihálygerge. The
leader of the group is Ferdinand Egyed.
